Dialogue A：
A: I don’t know whether to fly to Shanghai or go by train. （我不知道应该乘飞机去上海还是乘火车去。）
B: If you have more time, you can take the train to Shanghai. （如果你有更多的时间，你可以乘火车去。）
A: I guess the train is more interesting. Where’s the station? （我想乘火车更有意思。车站在哪里？）
B: It’s very central. It’s only 10 minutes by taxi from your hotel. （就在市中心。从你所住的旅馆乘出租车只需10分钟的时间。）
*当你用if （如果）. . .时，你可以暗示或者预测将要发生的事情。
Dialogue B：
A: I’ve got a little headache. （我头有点痛。）
B: Perhaps you had too much sun today. You should take some aspirin. （也许你几天在太阳下呆的时间太久了。你应该吃点阿司匹林。）
A: You’re right. Maybe the aspirin will help. I’ll take a couple. （你说得对。也许阿司匹林能有效。我吃两片。）
B: And then have a rest. A sleep will do you good. （吃完药好好休息。睡眠对你也会有好处。）
*当某人感觉不舒服时如何给以建议。

Dialogue C：
A: Where’s the nearest bank? （最近的银行在哪里？）
B: There’s a bank across the road from your hotel. （在你所住的旅馆的对面有一家银行。）
A: Opposite the hotel? （就在旅馆的对面吗？）
B: Yes – just cross at the traffic lights and you’ll find the bank. （是的——在交通灯处穿过马路，你就会看到那家银行了。）
*询问和回答某处有how near（多近）或者how far（多远），有很多种方法。
